What is the Bowen Technique?
The Bowen Technique is a complementary therapy.

It is a drug-free, non-invasive, gentle, subtle and relaxing remedial body technique that works on the soft connective tissue (fascia) of the body, helping to stimulate the body’s own healing resources to achieve balance and harmony.

Bowen can be applied to a long list of musco-skeletal problems, various sports injuries, chronic organic conditions like IBS or asthma, and many more.

A fuller list is detailed here.

A Bowen session involves making gentle, non-invasive moves on superficial and deep fascia.

The fascia, or soft tissue, is the part of the connective tissue that envelops, separates and influences every organ.

Moves are made over very particular places and in a specific order to stimulate the bodies own healing resources.

People are at times affected by injury and / or by emotional stress – adverse symptoms therefore follow.

It is important to note here that when a Person presents for a Bowen session, the aim is to treat this Person holistically, treating the whole person – not just the symptoms.
